Bears Dominate Columbia and Cornell

Providence, RI - The Brown crew took four out of five races from Columbia and Cornell on Saturday morning on the Seekonk River in Providence. The Bears' varsity eight cruised to an open water victory over both teams in the first race of the day while the junior varsity easily defeated Cornell (Columbia did not have an entry). The varsity eight is now 5-5 on the season.

Brown's novice eight remains undefeated with a six second win over second place finisher Columbia. The Big Red finished a distant third. Both of Brown's third varsity four enteries defeated their Ivy foes. The Bears only loss of the day came in the second novice four race as Columbia edged out Brown by alittle over six seconds.

The Bears will be back in action next Saturday as they face Yale and Northeastern in New Haven.
