PROVIDENCE, R.I. – Senior Louise Breen (North Hampton, N.H.) and junior Coco Schoeller (West Palm Beach, Fla.) of the top-ranked Brown women's crew have been invited to the 2014 USRowing Women's U23 National Team Selection Camp. The pair of Bears will compete for spots to represent the United States at the World Rowing Under 23 Championship in Varese, Italy on July 23-27.
The camp will start June 8 at the University of California – Berkeley. The Berkeley portion of the camp will conclude on July 5. The camp will start up again in Princeton, N.J., on July 8 for final preparation for the World Rowing Under 23 Championships.
Schoeller earned a spot on last year's U23 national team and won a gold medal in the varsity eight boat in Linz, Austria. Breen has occupied the stroke seat in the varsity eight boat for all of Brown's 10-1 season so far, while Schoeller has held steady in the fourth seat of the second varsity eight.
Brown's invitees are two of 19 collegiate rowers on the list and join fellow Ivy Leaguers Kate Roach of Cornell and Meghan Wheeler of Princeton.
Breen, Schoeller and the rest of the Bears return to action at the Ivy League Championships on May 18.
