No. 1 Women’s Crew Sweeps Cornell to Retain Dunn Bowl

ITHACA, N.Y. – The varsity eight prevailed by 5.7 seconds to help the No. 1 Brown women's crew team sweep all five events against Cornell and retain the Dunn Bowl on the Cayuga Inlet on Saturday.

Fighting a light headwind that increased throughout the course, the Bears took the third varsity eight in 6:59.2 to set the tone for all three varsity eight boats to crack the seven-minute mark. The varsity four 'B' took an 18.9 second victory, the varsity four turned in a time of 7:36.4 and the second varsity eight crossed the line in 6:46.6. The varsity eight completed Brown's five-win day with a 6:44.2 finish, edging Cornell's 6:49.9 mark.

The Bears conclude the regular season when they return to the Seekonk River to take on Yale on Monday. Races are scheduled to begin at 8 a.m.
