    Campbell ’18 Competes at World Rowing Junior Championships HAMBURG, Germany – Brown women’s crew incoming freshman Mary Campbell competed alongside her sister, Claire, at the 2014 World Rowing Junior Championships in Germany last week. The Campbell sisters raced for the United States in the junior women’s double sculls, placing sixth in the ‘B’ finals on Sunday.

    Brown Women’s Rowers Compete at World Rowing U23 Championships VARESE, ITALY – Four members of the Brown women’s crew competed at the 2014 World Rowing U23 Championships in Varese, Italy, last week. Junior Coco Schoeller (West Palm Beach, Fla.) represented the United States in the women’s quadruple sculls, while sophomore Emma Betuel (East Hampton, N.Y.) and freshman Alia Shafi (Lafayette, Calif.) donned the red, white and blue in the lightweight quadruple sculls. Finally, freshman Monika Sobieszek (Stoneham, Mass.) represented Poland in the women’s eight.

Sobieszek is the fourth Bear to earn a spot on a national roster, joining junior Coco Schoeller (West Palm Beach, Fla.), sophomore Emma Betuel (East Hampton, N.Y.) and freshman Alia Shafi (Lafayette, Calif.), who will all row for the United States.
