Before taking its three-week winter break, the Brown women's basketball team will welcome George Mason to the Pizzitola Center on Saturday at 2 p.m. The game marks the first-ever meeting between Brown and George Mason. It also marks the first time the Patriots have visited an Ivy League school as they lost to Columbia at home last season and defeated Penn at a neutral site in 2001. The Bears are 3-12 lifetime aganinst Colonial Athletic Conference opponents, including a 3-12 mark against Northeastern.

Brown is coming off a 73-59 loss at home to Boston University on Wednesday night. The Bears struggled from the field, shooting just 34%. Seniors Sarah Hayes and Jackie Vocell led Brown with 15 points a piece. Hayes fell one rebound shy of a double-double as she pulled down a season-high of nine. She leads the Ivy League with 16.7 ppg while her 7.1 rpg lead the team. Senior Colleen Kelly is averaging 11.1 ppg.

George Mason suffered a 68-62 loss to Penn St. on Tuesday night. Moni Akintunde led the Patriots with 19 points. Tracy Ann Holness leads three Patriot players in double figures this season with 12.9 ppg. Akintunde and Jen Daniels are averaging 12.4 and 10.1 ppg respectively.
