Providence, RI - Brown sports fans can follow the Bears' winter teams on TV this winter with nine events being televised by a combination of Cox Sports TV and the YES (Yankee Entertainment System) Network.
The Brown women's basketball team, coached by Jeanie Burr, finished second in the Ivy standings a year ago, and will be featured on Cox Sports TV on February 25th against Dartmouth at the Pizzitola Sports Center.
Coach Glen Miller's men's basketball team, also coming off a second place finish in the Ivy standings and its fourth straight winning season, will have three games televised on Cox Sports TV, and two aired nationally on the YES Network as part of the Ivy League television package. The Bears will tip-off its Cox Sports TV schedule with intra-city rival Providence on January 3 at the Dunkin Donuts Center. The men's basketball team will also appear on Cox Sports TV on February 11 against Dartmouth and March 4 vs. Columbia at the Pizzitola Sports Center. The YES Network will televise the Bears at home against Dartmouth on February 12, and vs. Penn on February 18.
Women's hockey coach Digit Murphy's team, currently ranked 8th in the nation, will be featured on Cox Sports TV on November 16 against Harvard in an Ivy League/ECAC match-up at Meehan Auditorium.
Coach Roger Grillo's men's ice hockey team, an ECAC Top four team a year ago, will open the Cox Sports TV package on Saturday, November 13 against Ivy League rival Yale at Meehan Auditorium. Grillo's team will also be featured on February 4 at home against Vermont.
