Brown junior Rada Pavichevich (Norwood Park, IL) and rookie forward Nyema Mitchell (Birmingham, AL) were among those selected as All-Ivy performers on Friday, as chosen by the Ivy League women's basketball coaches.
Pavichevich, Brown's captain, was named second-team All-Ivy following a season that saw her finish second on the Bears in scoring with 10.0 points per game. She also pulled down 5.6 boards per game and averaged 3.2 assists per contest, tops on the Brown squad. Pavichevich finished second in the league in steals per game with 2.04. She was named Ivy League Player of the Week for her efforts again Yale, when she hit her first five shots from the field en route to a 17-point effort.
Mitchell dominated the low post as a freshman, scoring 6.7 points per game, and finishing second in the Ivy League in blocked shots with 1.37 per game. Mitchell was named Ivy League Rookie of the Week once this season, following Brown's three-win week against Sacred Heart, Dartmouth and Harvard. Against the Pioneers, Mitchell sparked Brown to a 16-point win with 19 points off the bench, a season-high, and then hit two free throws with 6.7 ticks remaining to give Brown a 59-57 win over Harvard and a sweep in the opening weekend of Ivy play.
