Brown Announces the Resignation of Women's Basketball Assistant Kathleen Cronin

Providence, RI - Brown women's basketball assistant Kathleen Cronin has resigned to accept an assistant women's basketball coaching position at the University of Vermont. Cronin graduated from Vermont in 1998, where she was a three year member of the women's basketball team and captain of the squad her senior year. A search will begin immediately for Cronin's replacement at Brown.

Cronin came to Brown last season and helped lead the Bears to one of the biggest turnarounds in the nation, improving from a 5-22 record in 2001-02 to a 15-12 record in 2002-03. Before coming to Brown, Cronin served as a volunteer assistant coach for the Washington Mystics of the WNBA. She worked as an account executive for the Mystics as well.

Cronin played professional basketball in Figueira da Foz, Portugal for the Sporting Club Figueirense, averaging 33 points and 12 rebounds per game, after graduating from Vermont with a degree in wildlife biology. She was also a member of the 1993-1994 Marquette basketball team, which made its way to the NCAA Tournament.
