Princeton, NJ - After helping Brown to its fourth and fifth straight victories over the weekend, senior Colleen Kelly (Rochester, NY) was named the Ivy League's Player of the Week on Monday. Kelly was a key component in the Bears' win over Cornell on Friday as she hit four of five free throws down the stretch to preserve the victory. She finished with 22 points off 7-12 shooting, including 5-7 from downtown. In the win over Columbia, Kelly registered 13 points, five rebounds and four steals. This is Kelly's first Player of the Week honor of her career.
Kelly is now tied for 14th on the Ivy League's all-time three-point leaders list with 160 career three's. She is five points away from cracking the 1,000 point barrier, currently 15th all-time at Brown with 995 points.
This weekend Brown will host a pair of crucial matches against Harvard and Dartmouth. Friday's game with the Crimson will mark the fourth annual Blitz The Pitz where Brown will attempt to break the all-time attendance record.
Saturday's game with Dartmouth will be a battle for first place as the Big Green remain undefeated with a 7-0 Ivy record. The Bears are currently 7-1 in the league therefore a weekend sweep would put them in first place.
