Feb. 10, 2003
On February 8, 1991 the Brown University Women's Basketball Team packed the Pizzitola Gymnasium with 1,832 people as they hosted the Harvard Crimson. In front of the largest crowd ever for a women's basketball game in the Pizzitola Gymnasium the Bears sent the game into overtime. Brown ended up loosing the game 101-86.
Come help us relive this moment with a different outcome. On March 8, 2003 the Brown Bears will host the Harvard Crimson. Earlier this season the Bears fell to the Crimson 72-61, help us cheer the Bears on as we "Blitz the Pizz," and try and break the attendance record set in 1991.
The day will also recognize Women and Girls in Sports Day. A poster of the team will be given to everyone in attendance with the opportunity to get it autographed by the entire team after the game. In addition, fans in attendance will have the opportunity to win great prizes from the Roger Williams Park Zoo, Ronzio's Pizza, Whole Foods Market, and the Brown Bookstore.
Tickets priced will be lowered to $1 per person, and students will get in for free. For more information on the event please call 401-863-2773.
