Providence, RI - The fourth annual Blitz The Pitz promotion will be held on Friday, Feb. 17 at 7p.m. when the women's basketball team takes on Harvard at the Pizzitola Center. The goal of the promotion each year is to break the all-time attendance record for a women's basketball game, a feat that has been reached every year. Tickets to the game will be $1 while all youth tickets are free for every Brown women's basketball game. Brown faculty and staff members will also be admitted for free.
The first 100 children in attendance will receive a free t-shirt in honor of National Girls & Women in Sports Day while the first 500 children will receive a free team poster which they can get autographed by the Brown players after the game. Fans will also be eligible to win great prizes with in-game and on-court contests throughout the night.
Brown is off to another spectacular start in Ivy League play, currently in second place in the standings after sweeping Penn and Princeton this past weekend. The Bears are led by the backcourt duo of seniors Sarah Hayes and Colleen Kelly, who are among the League's leaders in several different categories. Hayes recorded the game-winning basket with four-tenths of a second left at Harvard two weeks ago, setting up a heated re-match in Providence.
Come cheer on the Bears as they look to capture their first Blitz The Pitz victory on Feb. 17 at 7 p.m.!
