Providence, RI - The fifth annual Blitz the Pitz will be held Saturday, Jan. 27 at 7 p.m. when the Brown women's basketball team takes on Harvard at the Pizzitola Center. The game is free for all Brown students, faculty and staff and for all children ages 12 and under.
Join the Bears to celebrate National Girls & Women in Sports Day, while also trying to break the all-time attendance record for a women's basketball game, a feat that has been accomplished almost every year. There will be pom-pom and team poster giveaways, on-court contests and games, as well as free t-shirts for the first 100 children (while supplies last). The Bears will also be signing autographs after the game.
Brown is coming off an exciting 67-60 victory over Yale last weekend, as sophomore Catherine Schaper (Houston, TX) poured in a career-high 21 points. Senior Ashley King-Bischof (Pleasanton, CA) leads the team in scoring and rebounding, netting 12.8 points per game and grabbing 6.6 boards.
The Bears host Dartmouth on Friday, Jan. 26 at 7 p.m. and will then Blitz the Pitz on Saturday, Jan. 28 against Harvard at 7 p.m.
