Brown junior guard Sarah Hayes (Beaufort, S.C.) was named the Ivy League Player of the Week as she led the Bears to their 65-38 Ivy opening win at Yale on Saturday. For the second straight game Hayes tied her career-high of 22 points on 10-for-16 shooting along with five steals and five rebounds. Hayes is averaging 18.8 points per game on 49.4-percent shooting, 6.4 rebounds per game and 3.8 steals per game in Brown's last five contests. In addition, she is shooting 84.2% from the foul line.
She is currently second for Brown and third in the league in scoring with 14.0 points per game. Her 3.1 steals per contest rank first in the Ivies as well. The 5-8 point guard is second in rebounding for the Bears with 5.5 per game.
