The Bears came out ready to play today, as they controlled the game throughout most of the first half while shooting 42 percent from the field. Bonds' aggressive play in the paint helped her score Brown's first eight points of the game to secure its first lead of the weekend, 10-8, at the 11:22 mark.

Stony Brook kept the game close by forcing Brown into 18 first-half turnovers, but the Bears' hard-nosed defense kept the Seawolves to 27 percent shooting, while also out-rebounding Stony Brook, 21-20. Stony Brook capitalized on Brown's turnovers, and gained a 25-20 lead heading into halftime.

The Seawolves kept the pressure up to start the second stanza gaining their biggest lead of the afternoon, 35-26, just five minutes in. Three's by Ann O'Neal and Karly Grace brought the Bears back within six points, but the Seawolves built it up to 15 after going on a 9-0 run with five minutes remaining in the game. O'Neal's 11 points in the second half kept Brown within reach, but Stony Brook turned up the defensive pressure and forced Brown into 14 second-half turnovers.

A long three by Grace brought Brown within eight, and free-throws down the stretch by Grace and O'Neal cut the deficit to six with under a minute to go. The Bears were forced to foul, as Stony Brook went ahead 64-52 to end the game.

Grace was Brown's leading scorer as she went three-for-four from three-point field goal range, and went three-for-three from the charity stripe.
