PROVIDENCE, RI - The Brown women's basketball team dropped a 63-51 decision to the visiting Harvard Crimson on Friday night at the Pizzitola Sports Center.
Leading the way for Brown (4-14, 1-4 Ivy) was sophomore forward Nyema Mitchell (Birmingham, AL) who notched her fifth double-double of the season with 13 points and 11 rebounds on six of ten shooting from the floor. Also scoring in double-figures for the Bears was senior Rada Pavichevich (Norwood Park, IL) who had 11 points, three rebounds and four assists. Fellow senior Erin-Kate Barton (Portland, OR) had eight points and four rebounds for the Bears.
Brown shot 44 percent from the field in the first half as they raced out to a 24-19 lead at halftime.
Harvard (12-5, 3-1 Ivy) came back into the game in the second half by shooting a blistering 56 percent (14-25) from the field, including a 50 percent (4-8) performance from three-point range.
The Bears will face the Dartmouth Big Green on Saturday night at the Pizzitola Sports Center at 7:00 p.m.
