The Brown University Women's Basketball Team improved its overall record to 4-7 as six players scored in double digits in a 85-76 win over the Seawolves of Stony Brook.
The Bears went into the locker room down by three after trailing most of the first period, but Brown came out with a full court press that the Seawolves could not break and took the game over.
Brown was led once again by junior foward Nyema Mitchell (Birmingham, AL) who netted 16 second half points, 18 total in the win. Freshman Sarah Hayes (Beafort, SC) recorded 16 points and four steals as freshman Jackie Vocell (Atkinson, NH) and junior Miranda Craigwell (Boston, MA) accumulated 12 points a piece. Vocell also added four assists and two steals.
Also scoring in double didgits for the Bears were junior Tanara Golston (Skokie, IL) and freshman Colleen Kelly (Rochester, NY) who both netted eleven points. Golston led the Bears in assists with five.
Next action for Brown will be January 8, 2003 at Army at 7:00 p.m.
