PORTLAND, OR - The Brown women's basketball team wrapped up its three-game west coast trip by falling 57-42 to the Portland State Vikings at the Peter W. Stott Center on Monday.

Senior Erin-Kate Barton (Portland, OR), who was playing in front of her hometown fans, came away with eight points and eight rebounds on four of ten shooting from the field to lead Brown (3-9). Sophomore Stephanie Bruce (Summit, NJ) also chipped in with eight points and five rebounds and senior Rada Pavichevich (Norwood Park, IL) had seven points and seven rebounds.

Sophomore Nyema Mitchell had five points, nine rebounds and five blocked shots. Mitchell has recorded 34 blocks this season to lead the Ivy League in that category.

The Bears trailed 27-21 at the half, and fell behind early on in the second half when the Vikings increased their lead with an 8-0 run. Brown closed the game with a 10-3 run of their own to narrow Portland State's lead to 12 points at 54-42.

Brown returns to action on Tuesday, January 8 against Iona in New Rochelle, NY before opening its Ivy League schedule on January 11-12 at Cornell and Columbia.
