PROVIDENCE, R.I. – Sophie Albano-Alisberg, a former support staff member with USA Basketball and High Point University women's basketball, will join the Brown University women's basketball staff as the team's operations coordinator, head coach Sarah Behn announced on Friday.
"Our operations coordinator plays a critical role in the success of our program, and I am excited to add Sophie to our staff in this position," Behn said. "She has great experience from her time with USA Basketball and High Point, and I know that she will bring both dedication and organization to our team."
Albano-Alisberg spent time with USA Basketball in the summers of both 2016 and 2017 while also serving as the head women's basketball manager at High Point from 2013-17. During her time at High Point, she also worked as a facilities and operations assistant for HPU athletics from 2015-17.
"I truly appreciate Coach Behn placing her trust in me and providing me with this opportunity," Albano-Alisberg said. "I am looking forward to working with this amazing group of student-athletes and helping them continue to meet and exceed their goals on and off the court."
While working for USA Basketball, Albano-Alisberg served on the support staff for the U16 and U19 National Team Trials from May to June of 2017 after acting as a member of the support staff for the U17 and U18 National Team Trials in May of 2016.
At High Point, Albano-Alisberg worked as a team manager for the women's program during all four of her years as an undergraduate. She held responsibilities surrounding practice and game-day operations, equipment, and visiting team needs. She also served as a facilities and operations assistant for the Panthers' athletic department as a junior and senior, aiding in the coverage of a variety of sports, including soccer, volleyball, basketball, and lacrosse.
A native of West Hartford, Conn., Albano-Alisberg earned a bachelor's degree in Human Relations with a minor in Sports Management from High Point University in 2017.
