Clarke Selected For WBCA "So You Want To Be A Coach" Program

PROVIDENCE, R.I. – Brown women's basketball co-captain, Lauren Clarke, was named to the 2014 class of the WBCA "So You Want To Be A Coach" program as announced by the Women's Basketball Coaches Association.

The objectives of the program are to increase the understanding and applications of skills necessary to secure coaching positions in women's basketball and raise awareness of the existing pool of female basketball players with coaching aspirations.

Clarke and the rest of the 2014 class will participate in the three-day workshop from April 4-6 in Nashville.  The workshop will educate participants about the recruiting process, the administrative side of coaching, skills needed to get hired, and work/life balance.

Each selection was based on academics, contributions on and off the court, professional resume, and a written recommendation from her head coach.

Clarke ranks ninth on Brown's all-time scoring list with 1,224 points entering play this weekend against Columbia and Cornell at the Pizzitola Sports Center.
