Sheila Dixon Named Ivy League Player of the Week

Providence, RI- Sophomore guard Sheila Dixon (Schenectady, NY) earned her first career Ivy League Player of the Week honor after leading the Brown women's basketball team to a thrilling 56-55 win over Dartmouth on Saturday night at Leede Arena. The win gave the Bears their first series sweep over the Big Green since the 1993-94 season.

Dixon earned her fourth double-double of the season after pouring in 22 points and grabbing 14 rebounds (both career highs), while also handing out two assists and picking up two steals. With Dixon's 11 points and six boards the previous night versus Harvard, the Bears were within one of the Crimson at the half. Dixon also added two assists and two steals in her 31 minutes of play.

Dixon has started in 21 of 24 games this season and leads the team in both scoring and rebounding with 10.9 points and 6.3 rebounds per game.
