Providence, RI- The Brown women’s basketball team has
postponed “Hoops for Haiti” due to poor weather
conditions. The event, which was scheduled for tonight (wednesday,
2/10), has been rescheduled for Wednesday, Feb. 17 at 6:00 p.m. at
the Pizzitola Sports Center.
To support those affected by the recent tragedy in Haiti, the team is raising money through a “free-throw-a-thon.” Each team member will shoot 300 free-throws on Wednesday, Feb. 17, and will try to raise over $3,000. ALL the money raised will go to UNICEF, where 100% of the money donated will go to the Haiti effort. Each player is asking for donations per made free-throw. You can donate $1 per made shot, $.75, $.50, $.25, $.10, or any amount you see fit. Contact Brown women’s basketball coach Kristen Buckley at (401) 863-1768 or e-mail Kristen_Buckley@brown.edu for more information.
