Princeton, NJ- Addie Micir's 18 points helped the Princeton University Tigers to a 75-44 victory over the Brown University Bears on Friday evening at Jadwin Gym. The Tigers improved to 14-2 on the year with a 2-0 mark in Ivy League play, while the Bears dropped to 4-13 overall and moved to 1-2 in the league.
Lauren Edwards led the Tigers with 12 points on 4-of-6 shooting from the floor and Devona Algood netted 10 points on 5-of-7 from the floor to help Princeton gain a 43-17 halftime lead over the Bears. The hot-shooting Tigers shot 55 percent from both the field and from beyond the arc, as the Bears were shooting just 25 percent on 7-of-28 shooting.
Princeton jumped out to a 23-5 lead after the first 10 minutes of play, and continued to build a 36-11 advantage with the help of Edwards and Algood. Brown struggled on the offensive end, but back-to-back buckets by sophomore Hannah Passafuime (Soquel, CA) cut Bruno's deficit to 21 with 1:53 remaining in the half. Both Passafuime and senior forward Natalie Bonds (Taveres, FL) added four points apiece to lead Brown in scoring in the first half.
Princeton's Addie Micir netted 10 of the team's 17 second-half points to help the Tigers to a 60-25 lead, as Bonds, Lindsay Steele (Erial, NJ), Aileen Daniels and Sarah Delk (Atlanta, GA) scored for Brown nine minutes into the second stanza. The Tigers continued to build its lead throughout the remainder of the game and ended with a 75-44 advantage over the Bears.
Steele led Brown in scoring with nine points as Delk brought down eight rebounds. Princeton's Micir led with a game-high 18 points, followed by Lauren Edwards with 15.
Brown will take on the University of Pennsylvania at 7:00 p.m. tomorrow at The Palestra.
