Men's Cross Country Earns Fifth Place at Ivy League Heptagonal Championships

Bronx, NY - Junior Duriel Hardy (West Chester, PA) earned the Brown men's cross country team top finish with a time of 24:52.3 to help lead the team to a fifth place finish with 142 points at the Ivy League Heptagonal Championship at Van Cortlandt Park on Friday. Princeton claimed the championship with 58 points, followed by Columbia (61), Cornell (75), and Dartmouth (89).
Following behind Hardy's seventh-place finish was sophomore John Haenle (Lockport, NY) with a 25:32.5 finishing in 26th place. Freshman Matt Duffy (Oakland, CA) turned in a 25:40.8, and junior John Loeser (Weston, CT) placed 38th with a 25:47.9. Rounding out the scoring was sophomore Brian Schilder (Milford, NJ) with a 26:04.4.
Also running was junior Colin Brett (26:50.4), senior Stephen Chaloner (26:54.2), freshman Scott Friedlander (27:08.0), and freshman Tom Elnick (27:15.6). Junior Scott Cary posted a 27:22.7, and senior Brian Schmidt turned in a 28:41.6.
