Altopp Leads Men’s Cross Country at NCAA Regional

AMHERST, N.Y. – Sophomore Gabriel Altopp (Ridgefield, Conn.) finished 14th overall to lead the Brown men's cross county team to a seventh-place finish at the NCAA Northeast Regional Friday afternoon at Audubon Golf Course.

The Brown men's team was seventh out of 37 squads and second among all Ivy League schools with 245 points. Syracuse was first overall with 28 points.

Altopp was 14th out of 254 runners as he completed the 10-kilometer course in a time of 32:17.7. Senior Martin Martinez (Waukegan, Ill.) also earned All-Region honors as he took 22nd overall in a time of 32:36.3.

Senior Andrew Foerder (Seattle, Wash.) added a 52nd-place finish at 33:20.2, before Cameron Daly (Meredith, N.H.) and rookie David Scherrer (Virginia Beach, Va.) crossed at 73rd and 84th, respectively, in times of 33:43.6 and 33:51.6 to complete the Brown scorers.
