LOUISVILLE, Ky. – Senior Michael Wyman (Marion, Mass.) was 79th overall as the Brown men's and women's cross country teams competed at the highly-competitive 2017 Pre-National meet Saturday morning at E.P. "Tom" Sawyer Park.
The men's team totaled 566 points to place 21st out of 41 schools. The women's side recorded 682 points for 27th out of 43 programs.
Wyman paced the men's team with a 79th-place finish as he completed the 8-kilometer course in a time of 24:19.4. Sophomore Gabriel Altopp (Ridgefield, Conn.) placed 99th overall in a time of 24:28.3, while senior Daniel McDonald Meteer (Arlington, Mass.) was 121st at 24:40.5.
Megan Ratcliffe (Carlisle, Mass.) led the women's team in the 6-kilometer red race as she turned in a 96th-place finish at 21:10.9. Carleen Jeffers (Ridgewood, N.J.) was right behind her in 97th place with the same time, while Emma Sloan (Franklin, Tenn.) crossed at 158 in a time of 21:45.6.
Clare Peabody (Aptos, Calif.) and Lucy Srour (Potomac, Md.) crossed the finish line in times of 21:52.0 and 21:54.7 to complete the scorers.
Brown returns to action on Friday, October 27 for the Ivy League Championships at Van Cortlandt Park in New York City.
