Men’s Cross Country Earns Seventh at NCAA Northeast Regional

NEW YORK – Junior Martin Martinez (Waukegan, Ill.) paced the Brown men's cross country team to a seventh-place team finish as the Bears competed at the NCAA Northeast Regional Friday at Van Cordtland Park. 

Brown totaled 257 points to place seventh out of 35 teams, while Syracuse captured first place with 29 points.

Martinez completed the 10-kilometer course in a time of 31:40.74 to place 41st out of 245 individual runners. Rookie Gabriel Altopp (Ridgefield, Conn.) was not far behind as he took 45th place in a time of 31:43.60.

Fellow freshman Cameron Daly (Meredith, N.H.) was 56th overall as he crossed the finish line in a time of 31:57.34. Stephen Bourguet (Manhasset, N.Y.) and Andrew Foerder (Seattle, Wash.) finished at 32:00.57 and 32:02.28, respectively, to round out the Brown scorers.
