PRINCETON, N.J. – Freshman Cameron Daly (Meredith, N.H.) finished 22nd overall as the Brown men's cross county team placed seventh at the 2016 Ivy League Heptagonal Championships Saturday at Princeton's West Windsor Fields.

Penn captured the team championship with 38 points, followed by Princeton (51), Columbia (81), Dartmouth (115), Yale (118), Cornell (147), Brown (158) and Harvard (194). Yale's James Randon won the individual title with a time of 23:47.5.

"We competed hard, and it was exciting to see a freshman leading the team today," said head coach Tim Springfield. "We have a young group and our inexperience was a limiting factor today, but we made a step towards the team we will be in the future."

Daly completed the 8-kilometer course in a time of 24:22.3 as he passed 17 runners from the 1,500-meter point to finish 22nd overall. Andrew Foerder (Seattle, Wash.) and Matt Mahoney (Swampscott, Mass.) finished at 28th and 30th, respectively, in times of 24:32.0 and 24:32.7.

Ryan Anderson (Santa Rosa, Calif.) was 35th at 24:38.5, before Stephen Bourguet (Manhasset, N.Y.) crossed at 24:53.6 to complete the Brown scorers. Rookies Gabriel Altopp (Ridgefield, Conn.) and Jeremy Leary (San Anselmo, Calif.) finished in times of 25:04.8 and 25:14.4.

The Bears return to action on Friday, Nov. 11 for the NCAA Northeast Regional at Van Cortland Park.
