Bethlehem, PA- The Brown University men's cross country team finished in seventh place with 255 points in the 45-team field in the men's gold division at the 38th annual Lehigh Paul Short Invitational. The Bruno men were led by senior Dan Lowry, who ran the 8k race in a solid 24:18 to finish sixth place overall.
"It was a positive step forward for us today," said men's cross country coach Tim Springfield. "It was nice to see Dan Lowry and Matt Duffy running up front so successfully, and I thought our effort overall was excellent. There were a few minor things we could have done to execute better, but that will come."
Also turning in a great performance for the Bears was senior Matt Duffy, who ran a 24:41 for 16th place, while junior Austin Snyder (57th) ran a 25:15 and senior Nate Chellman (61st) crossed the finish line in 25:16.
The University of Oklahoma earned first place with 34 points, followed by Georgetown (143) in second and Columbia (156) in third. For complete results from the Paul Short Invitational, click here!
The Bears will now prepare for the New England Championships in Boston, Mass., on Oct. 8, and will then be back in Rhode Island for the Rothenberg Run on Oct. 14.
