Men’s Cross Country Competes at Ivy Heps

Bronx, NY- The Brown University men's cross country team finished in eighth place at the 2010 Ivy League Cross Country Heptagonal Championships this afternoon with a total of 188 points. Junior Dan Lowry had a solid performance for the squad today and led all Brown runners this afternoon with a time of 25:20.8 at Van Cortlandt Park.

Princeton earned the championship with 33 points, followed by Dartmouth (55), Columbia (94), Penn (118), Cornell (126), Harvard (141) and Yale (149).

Junior Matt Duffy was close behind Lowry with a time of 25:24.6 to finish 31st overall, and senior Christian Escareno ran the course in 25:39.1 for 41st. A pack of Brown runners followed behind, as sophomore Michael Stumpf (43) ran a 25:42.4, Kevin Cooper (45) posted a 25:47.6 and senior Brian Schilder (48) earned a 25:51.3. Sophomore Austin Snyder rounded out the group with a time of 26:01.6.

The Bears will now prepare for the NCAA Northeast Regionals on Nov. 13.
