Wrestling Class of 2008 Ranked 24th In the Nation
June 30, 2004
Wrestling International Newsmagazine, a national amateur wrestling publication has ranked the incoming class of Brown freshmen as the nation's 24th best recruiting class.
W.I.N. noted, "they didn't win state titles, but Junior National placewinners Jeff Schell (125) of Bloomsburg High School and Leo Saniuk (197) of Copley (Ohio) High School did about everything else possible as seniors. Mark Savino (133) of Lawrenceville (N.J.) High School was another good pick up for Brown, turning heads after winning a state title."
Brown's incoming freshman class includes three state champions and two High School All-Americans. Last year Head Coach Dave Amato's team had two of his wrestlers place in the Top 12 at the NCAA Tournament. A total of four earned All-Ivy honors.
