Nine Grapplers Place at Keystone Invitational

The Brown University Wrestling Team competed in its second invitational of the year on the campus of the University of Pennsylvania in the Keystone Invitational Sunday November 24th. Junior Sean Jenkins (Schnecksville, PA) went 4-0 on the day placing first in 165 as eight other Brown Grapplers placed in the top six.

Senior Clint Frease (Clearwater, FL) and junior Nick Ciarcia (Berlin, CT) both wrestled for the championships in their respective weights and went 3-1 in the invitational as they finished second. And freshman Lucas Magnani (Islip, NY) placed third in the 125 division.

Also placing for the Bears was freshman grappler Doran Heist (Meadville, PA) who finished fourth in 174. Brown freshmen Dan Apello (Roselle Park, NJ) and Lee Beane (Bridgewater, MA)both grabbed fifth place in their respective weights. Taking home sixth place finishes were freshman David Saadeh (Lancaster, PA) and sophomore Michael Savino (Lawrenceville, NJ).

As a team the Bears finished third out of the ten teams competing behind the University of Pennsylvania and Rider University. Next action for Brown will be in the Las Vegas Invitational December 6th and 7th.
