Brown Wrestling Team Competes at Bearcat Open

BINGHAMTON, NY - The Brown wrestling team opened its 2001-2002 season by taking five top five individual finishes at the Bearcat Open in Binghamton, NY on Saturday.

Leading the way for the Bears was senior Bronson Lingamfelter (Boxborough, MA) who finished first in the heavyweight division. Lingamfelter won four matches and had two pins on the day.

Senior Clint Frease (Clearwater, FL) also turned in an impressive performance with a second place finish in 141-pound action. Frease won three matches by decision before being defeated in the finals.

Sophomore Sean Jenkins (Allentown, PA) came in at third at 165 with five victories and fellow sophomores Adam Santee (Perry, OH) and Nick Ciarcia (Berlin, CT) added fourth place finishes at 174 and 184. There was no team scoring at this event.

The Brown grapplers return to action on Sunday, November 18, when they will compete at the Keystone Classic in Pennsylvania at 10:00 a.m.
