Bears Tie Warriors, But Loose Due to Near Fall

The Brown University Wrestling Team tied the East Stroudsburg University Warriors 15-15, but lost the match due to near fall criteria. This was the second match of the day for the Bears who are now 6-7 overall.

Four Brown Bears picked up their second win of the day in freshmen Lucas Magnani (Islip, NY) at 125, 6-2, and Lee Beane (Bridgewater, MA) 3-1 at heavyweight, as well as junior Nick Ciarcia (Berlin, CT) at 184, 3-1, and Clint Frease (Clearwater, FL) 6-5 at 141.

Also recording a win for the Bears was freshman Dan Appello (Roselle Park, NJ) 5-4 at 133. Wrestling for Brown, but coming away with losses were sophomores Shawn Cully (Cransberry Twp. PA) at 149, and Michael Savino (Lawrenceville, NJ) at 151. As well as juniors Sean Jenkins (Schnecksville, PA) at 165, and Adam Santee (Perry, OH) at 174. Also competing for the Bears but coming away defeated was freshman Pete Gladish (Kentfield, CA)

The Bears will continue action this weekend as they open the Ivy League competition at Princeton Saturday February 8, and Penn on the 9th.
