Frease Records Lone Win For Bears in 38-3 Loss to Lehigh

The Brown University Wrestling team fell to Lehigh University 38-3 today Saturday January 25, 2003. The Bears had one wrestler come away with a win in senior Clint Frease (Clearwater, FL) at 141, as he defeated Tristan Boyd of Lehigh 6-1.

Also competing for the Bears but loosing by decision was junior Nick Ciarcia (Berlin, CT) at 184 to Travis Frick 3-2. Freshman Lucas Magnani (Islip, NY) lost by decision to Mario Stuart 8-3 at 125 as fellow freshman David Saadeh (Lancaster, PA) lost by decision to Tommy Rohn 9-5 at 149.

Loosing by major decision for the Bears was junior Adam Santee (Perry, OH) at 174 to Brad Dillon 15-4. As well as sophomore Michael Savino (Lawrenceville, NJ) who was defeated by Derek Zinck 16-4 at 157 and junior Sean Jenkins (Schnecksville, PA) who lost major decision to Troy Letters 14-2 at 165.

Brown freshman Greg Pace (Bethel, CT) lost by fall at 5:38 in the second period to Corey Cooperman as freshman heavyweight Lee Beane (Bridgewater, MA) lost by technical forfeit 22-6. Brown also had to forfeit the 197 weight class.

The Bears will continue action this weekend as they host Hofstra and East Stroudsburg in the Pizzitola Gymnasium Saturday February 1, 2003 starting at 10:00 a.m.
