Gerrit Adams Named to All-North Team

Dec. 14, 2006

Brown junior Gerrit Adams (Winnetka, IL) has been added to the Collegiate Water Polo Association's All-North First Team after his accidental omission when the team was announced one month ago. He joins teammate Mike Gartner (San Jose, CA) on the squad, making the Bears the second team with two First Team honorees. St. Francis College, which finished the season ranked 15th in the country, placed three players on the First Team.

Adams, an Academic All-Ivy honoree as a neuroscience concentrator, finished the season second on the team with 53 goals in 29 games, the second-highest total on the team. However, Adams' strength was on the other end of the pool, where he was considered one of the premier two-meter defenders in the CWPA. He finished second on the team with 32 steals and 42 ejections drawn. He was named Second Team All-Tournament at the Eastern Championships after scoring six goals in Brown's three games, and was the CWPA Northern Division Player of the Week twice this season.
