Providence, RI - Despite playing its final game of the season on November 18, the Brown men's water polo team jumped back into the Collegiate Water Polo Association National Top 20 Poll on Wednesday. After posting a 20-11 record, the Bears ranked 20th in the final poll of the season.

The Bears overcame adversity throughout the season, posting a solid record and earning several accolades. Head Coach Felix Mercado, in his first season at Brown, won his second consecutive Northern Division Coach of the Year award. Junior Mike Gartner (San Jose, CA), who was 11th in the nation in scoring with 74 goals before last weekend's NCAA Championship, was named First Team All-East and First Team All-North, the third time he received the latter honor. Senior Gerrit Adams (Winnetka, IL) was also named First Team All-North for the second consecutive season, while junior Grant LeBeau (San Diego, CA) was named Second Team All-North. After finishing second at the Northern Division Championship, the Bears placed sixth at the Eastern Championship.
