Men's Water Polo Defeats Claremont, 12-8

Claremont, CA - The #18 Brown men's water polo team defeated Claremont-Mudd-Scripps, 12-8, but dropped a match to No. 6 Loyola Marymount, 13-4 on Saturday afternoon. Sophomore Gordon Hood (Carlsbad, CA) led the offense with four goals, as senior Grant LeBeau tallied three in both games.

LeBeau scored the only goal for Brown in the first two periods as the Lions jumped out to a 7-1 lead heading into the half. Hood tallied a goal in the third as both LeBeau and Yoshimura scored in the fourth, but it wasn't enough to overcome to six goals LMU tallied in the second half.

Junior Kent Holland (Orinda, CA) was in goal for the Bears, and picked up nine saves.

In Bruno's 12-8 win over Claremont, Hood scored three goals, while senior Mike Gartner, sophomore Corey Schwartz and senior Hank Weintraub (Los Angeles, CA) each scored two goals. Also adding a goal was Yoshimura and Lebeau, while Holland earned three saves in goal.
