Bears Top Fordham, 11-8

Cambridge, MA - The Brown water polo team (11-7, 4-1 CWPA North) won its fifth straight game over a divisional opponent on Friday night, beating Fordham (9-8, 1-1) 11-8 at MIT's Zesiger Pool.

Five players got on the scoresheet for the Bears, led by juniors Grant LeBeau (San Diego, CA) and Mike Gartner (San Jose, CA). The pair had three goals each, with LeBeau also tying with junior Hank Weintraub (Los Angeles, CA) with three assists. Freshmen Gordon Hood (Carlsbad, CA) and Corey Schwartz (Los Angeles, CA) had two goals apiece, with senior co-captain Gerrit Adams (Winnetka, IL) notching the other score. Sophomore Kent Holland (Orinda, CA) made seven saves in the win.

The Bears finish their three-game set against Northern Division foes on Saturday at 12:30 p.m., when they play Iona at Harvard's Blodgett Pool.
