#20 Brown Falls to Two Ranked California Foes

Claremont/Pasadena, CA - In a battle of the two teams tied for the 20th spot in the CWPA National Poll, the Brown men's water polo team (9-6) fell to Santa Clara, 8-7, to close the Claremont Convergence on Saturday. Later in the day, the Bears lost to #4 UCLA, 16-4, at the Rose Bowl Aquatic Center.
Against the Broncos, junior Grant LeBeau (San Diego, CA) led the way with five goals, with juniors Mike Gartner (San Jose, CA) and Hank Weintraub (Los Angeles, CA) scoring the other two goals. Those three were responsible for the four Brown goals later in the day, with Gartner scoring twice. Sophomore goalkeeper Kent Holland (Orinda, CA) made nine saves against the Bruins after making two against Santa Clara.
Brown finishes its West Coast swing today against #7 Long Beach State at 12 p.m. PT.
