Bears Top Puerto Rican National Select Team In Exhibition, 10-3

Caguas, Puerto Rico - The Class of 2009 picked up right where it left off last season, as three juniors scored seven goals in the Brown men's water polo team's 10-3 exhibition victory over the Puerto Rican National Select Team on Saturday. Mike Gartner (San Jose, CA) led the way with three goals, while Hank Weintraub (Los Angeles, CA) and Grant LeBeau (San Diego, CA) each added a pair as Bruno got a quick taste of the Caribbean at the Caguas Olympic Village.
Senior Gerrit Adams (Winnetka, IL), sophomore Zach Levko (Wildwood, MO), and freshman Gordon Hood (Carlsbad, CA) all had one goal in the exhibition contest. Sophomore goalkeeper Kent Holland (Orinda, CA) stopped 12 of the 15 shots he faced in the cage.
The Bears open their season this weekend at the MIT Invitational with five contests in two days, including one against 20th-ranked UC Santa Cruz on Sunday.
