Todd Clapper is entering his fifth season as the Head Coach of men's water polo at Brown. Clapper has also been the Head Coach of the women's team for the last five years. This past fall, Clapper was named the Northern Division Coach of the Year for the men's squad. During his coaching career at Brown, his women's teams has been ranked as high as 12th in the country and the men have been ranked as high as 19th. Additionally, he was named New England Coach of the Year in 2000 and Eastern Championship Coach of the Year in 2001 for the women's teams.

In addition to his coaching responsibilities at Brown, Clapper has been the athlete representative from the Northeast Zone of USA Water Polo for the past two years. As the representative, he has been a voting member on the Women's International/Olympic Committee and the National Coaches Committee at the USWP Annual Convention.

Before arriving at Brown, Clapper graduated Cum Laude with a BS in Exercise Science and a minor in Adapted Physical Activity and Rehabilitation from Slippery Rock University in Pennsylvania. As a freshman, he walked on to the water polo team at "The Rock" and became the starting goaltender by the end of his sophomore year. While at SRU, he played all four years under Richard "Doc" Hunkler who was one of the inaugural inductees to the CWPA Hall of Fame this past year. During his junior year, Clapper recorded 28 saves in one game against Villanova. As a senior, he was captain of the team and earned All-Southern Conference Honors. During Clapper's four years at Slippery Rock, the water polo team achieved a ranking of #15 nationally.
