Men’s Water Polo Goes 2-0 at MIT Invitational
September 5, 2010Boston, MA- The Brown men’s water polo team opened up the 2010 season with two victories at the MIT Invitational this afternoon. Bruno cruised to an 11-6 win over Cal Lutheran, and then defeated Boston Metro 11-7. Sophomore Svetozar Stefanovic (Belgrade, Serbia) netted six goals to lead the offense today, while freshman Jaemes McNamara (Los Angeles, CA) earned five in his rookie debut.
Men’s Water Polo Ready to Compete at MIT Invitational
Providence, RI- The Brown University men’s water polo team will kick off the 2010 season against Cal Lutheran at 11:30 a.m. on Sept. 4 at the MIT Invitational. With the return of the entire Brown starting lineup minus ACWPC All-American goalkeeper Kent Holland, the Bears will once again look to contend for a Northern Division title and to improve on last year’s sixth place finish at the Eastern Championships.
James McNamara Selected to USA Junior National Water Polo Team
Providence, RI- Incoming freshman James McNamara (Los Angeles, CA) has recently been selected to the USA Junior National Water Polo team that will be competing in the 2010 UANA Junior Pan American Cup in Miami, Fla. August 10-16. Following Olympic Development tryouts, McNamara was chosen for the Junior Team training squad and made the final cut to represent Team USA.
