2013 ACWPC Men's All-American Teams
PROVIDENCE, R.I. – Brown men's water polo junior Henry Fox (Mercer Island, Wash.) and senior James McNamara (Encino, Calif.) have been named to the 2013 Association of Collegiate Water Polo Coaches All-American Honorable Mention Team for their outstanding play this season. McNamara earns his second All-American nod from the ACWPC after being selected as a sophomore, while Fox takes home his first All-American accolade to accompany a slew of conference and division honors.
A Collegiate Water Polo Association Northern Division First-Team pick and All-Ivy selection this season, McNamara adds the All-American honor to cap a spectacular four-year career at Brown. The senior ranked among team leaders with 53 goals (third), 50 steals (second) and 10 blocks (third) this season, and had a flair for the dramatic when he tossed in the game-winning goal against MIT to secure third place at the CWPA Northern Division Championships. An ACWPC All-American Honorable Mention as a sophomore, McNamara broke the Brown program record with 80 assists before shattering his own record with 93 helpers in 2012.
Fox fired in a team-best 85 goals to be named CWPA Northern Division First-Team and CWPA Eastern Championships All-Tournament First Team. A two-time CWPA Northern Division Player of the Week this season, Fox stood second on Brown in blocks (11), third in steals (48) and fifth in assists (21). He struck for 12 goals in four games, including six in a 16-6 win over George Washington, to power the Bears to fifth place at the CWPA Eastern Championships.
