SCOUTING THE CHAMPIONSHIP FIELD

The Northern Division Championship will pit top seed/host Harvard against No. 2 seed St. Francis College Brooklyn, No. 3 seed Brown University, No. 4 seed the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, No. 5 seed Iona College, No. 6 seed Fordham University and No. 7 seed Connecticut College to determine three items:

1) The Northern Division Champion and the final order of finish in the seven-team championship.
2) Which three Northern Division squads automatically claim berths at the CWPA Championship on Friday-Sunday, November 22-24.
3) Which teams are eligible for four At-Large bids to the CWPA Championship to join the top five-finishing teams from the Southern Division Championship and three qualifying Northern Division teams at the 12-team league title tournament at Brown later this month.

The Bears are a combined 11-6 against the Championship field this season and have beaten each team at least twice with the exception of St. Francis Brooklyn. The Terriers have prevailed all three times against Brown by a combined four goals.

Brown stands 2-0 against Fordham this season, winning 17-5 on the road on Sep. 21 and earning a 14-13 victory at home on Oct. 12. Freshman Jake Wyatt (Corona Del Mar, Calif.) led a balanced attack with three goals in the first meeting, while senior James McNamara (Encino, Calif.) scored five times in the rematch.

UP NEXT

Should Brown top Fordham and beat the winner of St. Francis Brooklyn and Connecticut College, the Bears would move on to Sunday's first-place showdown at 12 p.m. However, if Brown drops Saturday's second game, the Bears would play on Sunday at 10:30 p.m. in the third-place contest.
