Fox, Shockley Reel in CWPA Player of the Week Honors
BRIDGEPORT, Pa. – Junior Henry Fox (Mercer Island, Wash.) earned Collegiate Water Polo Association Northern Division Player of the Week and senior goalie Walker Shockley (Diamond Bar, Calif.) took home Defensive Player of the Week honors as the No. 20 Brown men's water polo team nabbed two major CWPA weekly awards after the Bears' 5-1 showing last week. The duo helped Brown win four-of-five contests at the Santa Clara University Rodeo Tournament to close out the regular season.
Fox scored a team-best 16 goals over six games last week, registering multiple goals in every contest. The junior scored two goals each in wins over No. 17 Cal Baptist and No. 10 Concordia, while posting four-goal performances against No. 16 Santa Clara and No. 11 UC Davis.
Shockley went 3-1 against four nationally-ranked opponents last week. The senior made a combined 44 saves and earned wins versus No. 10 Concordia, No. 11 UC Davis, No. 16 Santa Clara and No. 17 Cal Baptist.
Fox, Shockley and the rest of the Bears await the completion of the remainder of the CWPA Northern Division schedule, after which seedings for the CWPA Northern Division Championships will be revealed. The tournament is slated for Nov. 9-10 at Harvard.
