BRIDGEPORT, Pa. – After a six-goal performance to lift Brown to a 12-9 win over Harvard and propel the Bears to second place in the Ivy League Championships, sophomore Will Klein (Pasadena, Calif.) was named the Collegiate Water Polo Association Northern Division Player of the Week, it was announced by the league office on Tuesday. Klein joins junior Nick Deaver (Orinda, Calif.), junior Henry Fox (Mercer Island, Wash.) and freshman Warren Smith (Dallas, Texas) on the list of Bears to earn major weekly awards this season.
Klein totaled seven goals over two matches and tallied 10 draw ejections to bump his team-leading total to 73 on the season. The 6-foot-4 utility player also grabbed two steals and scored a goal in a tight 13-12 loss to Princeton in the Ivy League Championship game on Sunday.
Klein and the rest of the Bears return to action on Friday when Brown heads to California for five games in three days in the Santa Clara Bronco Invitational.
