    Trent Calder Named Men’s Water Polo Assistant Coach, Kate Flanagan Elevated to Women’s Assistant PROVIDENCE, R.I. – Trent Calder, a two-time NCAA National Champion at the University of California, Berkeley and USA National Team member, has been named the assistant coach for the Brown men’s water polo team, it was announced by Head Coach Felix Mercado on Wednesday. Also, current assistant Kate Flanagan will assume full-time assistant duties for the women’s water polo team after splitting time between the two squads during the 2013-14 season.

    Men’s Water Polo Boasts Best GPA in Division I, Earns Honors from ACWPC PROVIDENCE, R.I. – Continuing its tradition of academic excellence, the Brown men’s water polo team posted a team grade point average of 3.490 for the best mark in Division I and the second-best GPA across all divisions, earning recognition from the Association of Collegiate Water Polo Coaches (ACWPC). The Bears saw 14 athletes receive ACWPC All Academic awards and earned their highest team GPA since 2011 when they finished with a nation-best 3.520.
