Bears Defeat George Washington in North-South Challenge

Cambridge, MA- Senior Svetozar Stefanovic (Belgrade, Serbia) lit up for seven goals to help led the Brown men's water polo team to an 18-7 victory over George Washington during the CWPA North-South Challenge hosted at Harvard. Brown will now take on Princeton in the semifinals at 8 p.m. tonight.

Bruno gained a 5-3 lead in the first eight minutes and outscored the Colonials 6-1 in the second to head into halftime with an 11-4 lead. The Bears continued to roll with a 5-1 advantage in the third and added two goals in the fourth to earn the 18-7 win.

Junior Walker Shockley (Diamond Bar, CA) picked up eight saves in the cage in three quarters, while sophomore Andrew Brown (La Grange, IL) tallied one in his eight minutes of play.

Adding to the offense was senior Cyrus Mojdehi (La Jolla, CA) with three goals, and senior Dean Serure (Coral Gables, FL) and junior James McNamara (Los Angeles, CA) put in two apiece. Also, sophomore Henry Fox (Mercer Island, WA), junior Chris Culin (Cincinnati, OH) and sophomore Nick Deaver (Orinda, CA) added one goal each.
