Cambridge, MA- Led by junior Svetozar Stefanovic's six goals, six steals and two assists, the Brown men's water polo team earned an 11-4 victory over Harvard on Saturday afternoon in a special breast cancer awareness match where both teams wore special suits for the occasion.
The Bears roared out to a 4-1 lead in the first eight minutes of play and continued its solid play throughout the game. Brown then outscored Harvard 2-1 in the second quarter to head into the locker room at halftime with a 6-2 lead over the Crimson.
Both squads knocked in two goals in the third quarter and the Bears' stingy defense shut down the Harvard offense in the fourth as the Bruno offense put in three goals to earn the 11-4 win.
Adding to the attack was Henry Fox with two goals, while Chris Culin, Nick Deaver and James McNamara tallied one apiece. McNamara also posted three assists and two steals, while Toby Espinosa had an outstanding day with five steals.
The Bears will now head to MIT to challenge the Engineers at 6 p.m.
