Pacific Tigers Roar Past Bears, 16-9
Santa Clara, CA- In the final game out west at the Santa Clara Rodeo Tournament, the No. 20 Brown men's water polo team fell 16-9 to the University of Pacific yesterday evening.
Svetozar Stefanovic, Gordon Hood and Dean Serure led the scoring with two points each, while Michael Hartwick and Grant Villeneuve chipped in with one. Junior goalkeeper Max Lubin played all 32 minutes in net and picked up six saves to lead the defense.
Pacific took an immediate lead and never relinquished it. The Tigers extended their lead to 8-5 at the half, and then outscored Brown 6-2 in the third to take a 14-7 lead heading into the final quarter. The Bears and Tigers went goal-for-goal scoring two each, but Pacific came out on top with the win, 16-9.
The Bears are back in action on Thursday, Oct. 28 when they take on MIT at 7:30 p.m. at Wheaton College.
